In this dual position you will work at Alliander on making their energy systems smart and efficient, and perform the necessary academic research to make this possible at the Radboud University with Prof Gabriel Lord and Dr Laura Scarabosio.
To incorporate uncertainties in the model, we need to solve two main tasks: given an initial estimate of the uncertainties in the parameters, we have to study how these affect the temperature distribution of the cable (forward problem); furthermore, using the knowledge provided by measurement data, we can obtain more accurate estimates of the uncertainties in the parameters (inverse problem), which can in turn be used for prediction in the forward problem. According to the skills and interests of the candidate, the project will focus more either on the forward or on the inverse problem.
