1st Dutch Mathematical Relativity Day

at Radboud University Nijmegen on January 24, 2020 (Friday)

General relativity is a geometric theory of gravitation introduced by Albert Einstein in 1915 to describe the large scale structure of our universe. Besides its importance for several astrophysical observations, this theory is also of extraordinary mathematical beauty. Over the last decades it has lead to and stimulated many important new developments in modern mathematics via the theory's natural links to nonlinear partial differential equations, differential geometry, and mathematical physics.

The aim of this meeting is to highlight the relation of general relativity to other areas of mathematics, and to introduce interested researchers in the Netherlands to state-of-the-art research in mathematical general relativity.

At Nijmegen Central Station take bus 10 to the university. (Alternatively, any bus to Heyendaal Station will do). Get off just after you have passed the Huygens Building on your left. It is an easily recognized green building, here is a picture.
