NSM Focus | Looking back on successful events
Special activities are regularly held at the Nijmegen School of Management, where alumni are also very welcome. In this NSM Focus we would like to take a brief look back at two such events. In texts or images.
Lustrum Political Science
The Political Science programme celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in November 2019. Time to take a look back along with students, former staff members, staff members, and alumni. For that reason a big anniversary celebration was held in the Elinor Ostrom Building. With success: the evening, in which the focus was on music, reflection, food, and entertainment, proved that a turbulent history can be the foundation for a powerful political science network. For example, the film below, “Politicologie 50 jaar – van Rode Barakken tot Glazen Huis” (Fifty years of Political Science - from Red Barracks to Glass House), was screened. Using historical material, the film provides a valuable insight into the origins of the programme (in Dutch).
Business Administration New Year’s Event
At the beginning of the year, the Business Administration division made a big effort to celebrate the start of 2020. During the second edition of the New Year’s Event alumni, staff members, and students came together to discuss the theme “Responsible Organisation”.
After the welcome speech by division chair Yvonne Benschop, Carola Wijdogen took the floor. As director of the Sustainability University Foundation, she spoke about the role of companies in initiating sustainability-oriented transitions. On behalf of student association Synergy, Jean-Pierre Dullens wished those present a happy new year. During the closing drinks the visitors looked back, but above all forward to the future.
