On 14 March from 12.30 – 14.00 p.m., the IMR Academy organises the seminar Research data management: everything you need to know in EOS N 01.310.
Proper data management facilitates research, encourages open science, contributes to the reproducibility of results, and enables the reuse of data by third parties. Furthermore, the Executive Board of our university and a growing number of funders and journals have set conditions to the management of research data.
How to get off to a good start with responsible data management? In this annual training, the IMR data steward Francie Manhardt together with the RDM support group from the Information and Library Services will guide you through the main steps. They will discuss many practical aspects, such as: writing a data management plan, where and how to store your data during your research, documenting data (version control, backups, file formats, file naming, metadata), ethical issues (dealing with personal data and informed consent procedures) as well as making data available for reuse.
The training is aimed at all IMR research staff working with research data except PhD candidates. PhD candidates can follow the RDM course organised by the Doctoral School.
