University Study Prize 2022 for Cherelle de Leeuw

The Executive Board annually awards eight University Study Awards, one per faculty, for Master's thesis theses of exceptional quality written in the previous year. The award consists of a €1,000 grant and a certificate signed by the Rector Magnificus and the Dean.

The University Study Prize 2022 goes to Cherelle de Leeuw for her master's thesis "The Hold Digital Platforms Have On Us. On freedom of expression & the libertarian case for state intervention", written in 2021 within the specialization Political Theory. The award ceremony will take place during the Opening of the Academic Year on Monday 5 September from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in De Vereeniging.

The study prize has been in existence since 2014. Of the nine prizes awarded to date, six went to political scientists, and four of these in turn went to political theory theses.
