Courses as electives

Students of the following specialisations take 18 EC of their electives in the first semester of the third year and the remaining 6 EC in the second semester of their third year*.

  • Business Economics
  • Financial Economics
  • International Economics and Policy

Please note: the programme of the specialisations International Economics and Business and International Bachelor’s in Economics and Management are different.

*These periods are reserved for electives in your programme; however it is also possible to take your elective at another moment.

Some general tips for choosing your electives:

  • Consult the study guides for the content of the courses and check whether you fulfil the prerequisites.
  • The course cannot have overlap with courses from your fixed program. This e.g. means that courses from the first year from the Bachelor Economie en Bedrijfseconomie/Economics and Business Economics are not suited to use as electives. The courses from both study programmes are identical. On the Bachelor channel on Brightspace you can find a list of these courses.
  • To enrol for a course please make sure you register on time in Osiris (or through a webform such as with Law courses).
  • Talk to others who already picked their electives/are orienting as well.
