Courses as electives

The Geography, Planning and Environment (GPM) Bachelor's programme has room for five electives (30 EC). The electives will be offered by the GPM programme, the Nijmegen School of Management, other faculties, Radboud University, or other universities within the Netherlands or abroad.

If you want to take courses outside of the faculty, then you can review the digital course guides of the other degree programmes at Radboud University via this link: https://www.ru.nl/courseguides/. If you have any questions about the suitability of a course, feel free to contact the student advisor of the programme in question. For courses abroad, please contact the International Mobility Office.

Within the faculty, all courses from other Bachelor’s programmes can in principle be chosen, however, methodology courses, projects and the Academic Skills course cannot always be picked as an elective. Not every course is equally suitable as a choice of elective. When making your decision, please pay attention to the ‘prior knowledge’ tab under the course descriptions. Electives in the Master's programme are only accessible to students that are enrolled in the relevant Master's programme.

If you want more information on the suitability of courses or about the order in which the courses can best be chosen, please contact the study advisor.

General tips for choosing electives:

  • Please consult the course guides for the content of courses and to check whether you meet the requirements.
  • You must register for courses in good time. Registration usually takes place via Osiris, although in some cases you should report to the student desk (the STIP at the Elinor Ostrom building; to register for Law courses, for example, you should go to the desk in the Grotius building).
