Electives within GPE
At the end of the 1st year, you will choose a track within the GPE: globalisation, sustainability or urbanisation.
It is possible to follow the courses from the other tracks that you didn't choose as electives:
Environment and Society Studies: In this course, you will learn how you can critically reflect on the various perspectives on the interactions between the environment and society, and the implications thereof to the understanding of complex environmental questions.
Law and Institutions of Environment and Spatial Policy (in Dutch): In this course, you will learn about important legislative terms and concepts from the fields of Spatial Planning law and Environmental law and how to describe and explain their mutual relationships.
Urban Economics in Europe (in Dutch):In this course, you will learn about the most important theories, concepts and relationships in the field of urban economics from both classical as well as modern literature in a concise manner.
Area Development (in Dutch): In this course you will learn the different ways in which land and buildings can be developed (the actors, the roles, the distribution of tasks).
Borders and Identities in Europe: In this course, you will come to understand the academic and societal debate about the continual production and reproduction of borders, transnational collaborations and identities in Europe and the European Union.
