Electives offered at NSM

  • At the NSM a variety of mandatory courses from other Bachelor’s programmes can be chosen as electives. This generally does not apply to methodology courses and projects. For the complete lists of options see the different study guides
  • Are you looking for English-taught mandatory courses from other Bachelor’s programmes? The Department of Economics offers a lot of possibilities. About ten courses of the Bachelor’s programme in Geography, Planning and Environment are English-taught (for instance 'Environment and Society', 'Borders and Identities in Europe'); the same counts for seven courses of the Bachelor’s programme in Political Science and three courses of the Department of Public Administration ('European Governance', 'Comparative Public Administration' ‘ Governance in the Digital Age’)
  • Students can also choose electives that are not a mandatory part of other NSM bachelor’s programmes such as 'Economics and Sustainable Development', 'Introduction to Fraud Examination', 'Introduction to Digital Economics and FinTech, 'Migration and Society'. For the complete list of options see the study guide.
  • Also courses of the Centre for International Conflict – Analysis & Management (CICAM) can be taken as electives such as 'Natural Resources, Conflict and Governance', 'Actuele Vraagstukken van Oorlog en Vrede', 'Terrorisme: Beeld en Werkelijkheid'. For the complete list of options see the study guide.
