Minors at other faculties of RU
Students who choose to follow a minor at another faculty are free to search on their own and consult their study advisor if necessary. Possible options for a minor could be:

- Minors at the Faculty of Arts
- Minors at the Faculty of Social Sciences
- Minors at the Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies
Minors at the Faculty of Science
The faculty of Science offers a number of interesting minors for Business Administration students.
Computing Science and Information Sciences for Business Administration
The department of Computing and Information Science offers a minor Computing Science and Information Sciences for Business Administration that, after successful completion and together with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, gives access to the Master’s programme in Information Science. The minor consists of four compulsory courses (18 EC) and some optional courses. The compulsory courses are:
- Information Modelling and Databases (NWI-IPC033)
- Programming 1 (SOW-BKI131)
- Requirements Engineering (NWI-IPC023)
- Security (NWI-IPC021)

Minor Data Science
It is also possible to follow the interfaculty minor Data Science. You will follow at least 15 ECs worth of Data Science courses, consisting of the obligatory course Data Science Project (NWI-IBC045) and multiple electives. Minors at the Faculty of Arts
The Faculty of Arts offers a variety of minors. You can choose courses from different disciplinary and interdisciplinary packages.
- Minor Communication and Information Studies
Communication and Information Studies offers a complete English-taught minor (30 EC) in International Business Communication that, after a successful completion and together with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, gives access to the selection procedure of the Master’s specialisation in Global Communication and Diversity). Communication and Information studies furthermore offers a minor of 30 EC for Bedrijfskunde / Business Administration students that after a successful completion and together with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, gives access to the Dutch Master’s specialisation in Communicatie en Beïnvloeding. Please contact the study advisor of CIW (studieadviseur-ciw@ru.nl) and the admissions committee for more information and to assure your admission to the master’s programme after completing your bachelor and this minor / shortened pre-Master’s programme.
Minors at the Faculty of Social Sciences
The Faculty of Social Sciences offers a variety of minors which can be found in the minor guide.
One option could be:
- Minor Communication Science
Communication Science offers a minor that after successful completion and in combination with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration gives access to the one of the Dutch Master’s specialisations in Communication Science: Commerciële Communicatie, Prosociale Communicatie, Nieuws en Informatie or Vrij Programma. Minors at the Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies
The Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies offers a variety of minors that can be taken by students from other faculties. An example is the module ‘Wellbeing and Society’ (18 EC) that consists of three 6 EC courses: 'In Pursuit of Well-being', 'Psychology of Happiness' and 'Happiness Economics'. Please be aware that faculty doesn’t provide a minor certificate.
