Pre-Master

A pre-Master prepares you for a certain Master’s programme. It is usually a one-year programme of 30-60 EC. You can sometimes use your elective space to start following courses of a pre-Master’s programme during your Bachelor. However, please note that not all programmes offer a pre-Master and requirements can differ. Below are a few examples of such pre-sorting programs of the RU Nijmegen.

Pre-Master’s in Economics

The Department of Economics offers various pre-master programmes that, after successful completion and together with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, give access to different specialisations of the Master’s programme in Economics at Radboud University. An example: students of the Bachelor’s specialisation Business Economics, can get access to the Master’s specialisation Corporate Finance and Control of the Master’s programme in Economics,  after passing their Bachelor’s exam including the courses 'History of Economics' (block 1 and 2) and 'Investment Management' (block 2). Of course separate courses of these bridging programmes can be taken as electives.

Pre-Master’s in Communication and Information Studies

Communication and Information Studies offers a complete English-taught Pre-Master’s programme (30 EC) in International Business Communication that, after a successful completion and together with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, gives access to the selection procedure of the Master’s specialisation in Global Communication and Diversity. Communication and Information studies furthermore offers a Pre-Master’s programme of 30 EC for Business Administration students that after a successful completion and together with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, gives access to the Dutch Master’s specialisation in Communicatie en Beïnvloeding. Pre-Master’s in Law

Students of the Bachelor’s specialisation Business Economics have the possibility to follow a bridging programme of 44 EC (5 courses) or 57 EC (7 courses) that after successful completion and together with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, give access to the Master Fiscaal recht or the Master’s specialisations Ondernemingsrecht and Financieel recht of the Master Nederlands recht at Radboud University. Pre-Master’s in Communication Science

Communication Science offers a shortened pre-master’s programme that after successful completion and in combination with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration gives access to the one of the Dutch Master’s specialisations in Communication Science: 'Commerciële Communicatie', 'Prosociale Communicatie', 'Nieuws en Informatie' or 'Vrij Programma'. Pre-Master’s in Information Science

The department of Computing and Information Science offers a bridging programme for Bedrijfskunde / Business Administration students that, after successful completion and together with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, gives access to the Master’s programme in Information Science. The programme consists of four compulsory courses (15 EC) and some optional courses. The compulsory courses are:

  • Information Modelling and Databases (NWI-IPC033)
  • Programming 1 (SOW-BKI131)
  • Requirements Engineering (NWI-IPC023)
  • Security (NWI-IPC021)

Please be aware that this programme is the same as the minor computing science and information science for Business Administration. However, the minor take place during your Bachelor and the pre-Master’s programme after.
