11.00 – 11.45                   Lecture 1 – Harmen Ghijsen

How “crazy” are conspiracy theories and their believers? We will try to answer this question together by thinking about (1) the difference between plausible and implausible conspiracy theories, and (2) the way in which we normally arrive at many of our beliefs about the world. Along the way we will touch upon some key ideas in epistemology and philosophy of science and even confront some of our own biases and irrationalities.

11.45 – 12.00                   Break

12.00 – 12.45                   Lecture 2 – Denise Celentano

Human beings spend an enormous amount of their time working. Some forms of work are more meaningful than others. What distinguishes meaningful work from less meaningful work? In this lecture prof. Celentano will explore this question.

12.45 – 13.45                   Vegetarian and vegan lunch

13.45 – 15.15                   Seminar – Boris van Meurs

In this interactive seminar you’ll be put to work and read one of the most influential texts of the past century: The Second Sex, by Simone de Beauvoir.

15.15 – 16.00                   Student Forum

Four of our students answer your every question. What’s their favourite course? Do they live in Nijmegen? How international is their classroom? Was it difficult to move to the Netherlands? How are they going to shape the 21st century?
