You will gain insight in and ability of observing, analysing and interpreting rituals.
You will develop basic research skills for reflection on ritual action. 

In this laboratory you are invited to work with rituals in the field and in academic reflection and analysis. Several options can be chosen for an individual working plan:
1) you select case studies of ritual practice from literature, media or public life;
2) you describe cases from personal experience;
3) you conduct fieldwork with participating observation of ritual actions;
4) you enact rituals in a laboratory setting.
In all four options, you will chose relevant literature in collaboration with other students and the lecturer. Each individual student writes a paper about the cases and the analysis. Furthermore, personal reflection is developed and documented.
