- be able to describe the significance of Baptism and Eucharist as understood in the Orthodox traditions;
- be able to describe the different liturgical cycles of the various traditions of the Orthodox Churches;
- and be able to approach all the various aspect of the liturgy theologically and academically.

Introduction to Liturgical Theology
This course is an introduction to the liturgy as the focus of Church life in the Orthodox Church, providing the initial basis for a theological approach to the liturgy and for understanding the liturgy in all its aspects and functions. It mostly covers the period of the early Church, but also some aspects of the current liturgical practices in the various Orthodox traditions. The focus is mainly on the great feasts of the Lord, Baptism, Eucharist and the daily cycle of services.
