Inhoud

An introduction to classic debates and topics in Christian Doctrine

Dogmatics is a field that deals with the contents of the Christian faith. The main Christian distinctions are introduced between God, humanity, and the world and central themes are discussed like creation, Trinity, evil, Jesus Christ, sacrifice and salvation, the afterlife, and the end of time.

The content of the Christian faith has been developed through the course of the centuries and repeatedly associated with the questions and insights of believers. By thinking about changing religious practices, philosophy, and science, theology is in dialogue with the context and culture in which Christians profess their faith. This class critically reflects upon the Christian worldview and its vision for human flourishing. The role of the practices and ideas of the Catholic tradition receives special attention.
