After completing this course you will be able to:

- responsibly analyse the text of John, explaining the peculiarities of the Johannine sociolect, interrelating the different central themes of John and framing them within a proper socio-historical scenario.

The Gospel of John Analysis of the most important Johannine texts (for instance, John 1, 3,10, 14, 17, 18-20) in light of theoretical questions regarding the exegesis, theology, hermeneutics, and practical applications. The text will be dealt with by applying responsible exegetical methods, including macro analysis, grammatical and literary analysis, socio-historical analysis, historical analysis and theological analysis. Apart from that the theology of John will be discussed within its socio-historical contexts. |
