Participants will read important recent publications on a topic of their choice (e.g., debates/presentations of Jesus, Paul and the Gentile question, early Christian martyrdom, apocalypticism and the Dead Sea Scrolls, et al.) and write an extensive review essay that critically evaluates these studies. Students interested in taking this course are encouraged to contact the instructor to discuss possible topics and literature.
