Aims
At the end of this course, you will be able to design and execute a high-level independent study of ancient and scholarly literature with respect to the New Testament and early Christianity.
Content
This course provides the opportunity for students to further specialize in the study of the New Testament and early Christian literature. Participants will read important recent publications on a topic of their choice (e.g., debates/presentations of Jesus, Paul and the Gentile question, early Christian martyrdom, apocalypticism and the Dead Sea Scrolls, et al.) and write an extensive review essay that critically evaluates these studies. Students interested in taking this course are encouraged to contact the instructor to discuss possible topics and literature.
