Aims
At the end of this course you will be able to realize individual research on topics in the history of canon law and the analysis of particular topics in the present Codex Iuris Canonici.
Content
History and Present

The specialisation course focuses on the present state as well as on the history of the judicial system of the Latin tradition of the Roman Catholic Church. You may suggest topics for your research, for instance: Marriage Law, Canon Law and the Missions, Canon Law and Vatican II.

Presumed foreknowledge
Bachelor Theology, including an Introduction in Codex Iuris Canonici 1983. Passive mastery of German and Latin language.

Portfolio of written assignements and an oral exam.
