After this course you will be able to:

formulate a research problem and research question(s) which will guide the literature study;

select relevant academic publications which can help to answer the research question(s);

analyze the line of argument in the selected literature in the field of pastoral theology/practical theology;

formulate critical questions and reflections with regard to the literature that has been studied;
-
summarizese the result of your study in view of the research problem and research question.

At the start of this course, students together with the lecturer will decide on the content of the literature study. This literature study should help you in constructing a theoretical frame for your thesis in pastoral-/practical theology. Your thesis needs to be connected to the expertise of the lecturer(s) in Nijmegen. Topics of choice are contingency and spirituality in life narratives; (inter)religious learning and communication; religion and conflict, and narrative identity of local congregations.
If there are more students who choose this specialization, there will be a maximum of three meetings.
