After this course you will be able to:
- describe, analyze and compare the diversity of liturgical practices in present day World Christianity;
- describe the development of the liturgical movement and the anthropological turn in theology according to major authors;
- observe and analyse liturgical practice from a ritual perspective;
- reflect academically on the major challenges of lived liturgy in the third millennium.

This course on ‘Liturgical repertoires from a ritual perspective' encourages students to endeavor lived liturgy in present-day World Christianity. It offers an introduction to the ritual analysis of liturgical practice, the Liturgical Movement and the anthropological turn in liturgical theology. Furthermore, students work on case-studies from various traditions, including their own background. Main topics are liturgical repertoires surrounding death and various forms of liturgical spirituality (e.g. monastic liturgy).
