            • read and listen to German at B2 (CEFR) level in both practice- and authentic situations
            • self-assess their German proficiency and identify gaps in their proficiency
            • apply the basic rules of German with regard to spelling, (academic) vocabulary, style, logic and structure.
Content
The course is focused on achieving the B2 level in German for the 4 skills: writing, speaking, listening and reading. For the productive skills, the B2 CEFR B2 level will be attained. At the start of the course, a “Sprachstandserhebung” will determine the individual level of the students. There will be a practice exam after period 1 and an exam after period 2. The purpose of the course is to practise all the skills in the target language. Students will improve their  oral and written proficiency in different communicative situations. They will learn to draft written and oral text types with regard to content and linguistic correctness, with special attention for grammar, coherence, vocabulary and - for oral language proficiency – pronunciation. Students will receive feedback from the teacher during both lectures and seminars.
