Aims
At the end of the course, the student will be able to give oral presentations in French about business topics and about social and cultural aspects of countries where French is the main language. The student will also be able to hold conversations in French about business topics.
Additionally, the student can write a number of short and longer texts in French about business topics, and about social and cultural aspects of French-speaking countries. The student can correctly apply the APA referencing system in acknowledging sources in written reports, and can avoid plagiarism by quoting from, paraphrasing, or summarizing sources.
In all oral and written products, the student will use French at B1 level that is lexically and grammatically correct, is reasonably coherent and without too many pronunciation errors.
Content
As an IBC French graduate, you will be expected to be able to communicate adequately in French, in a professional context, about a variety of business topics using different forms of oral and written communication.
In this course you will practise your oral and written skills in French by speaking and writing about business topics as well as social and cultural aspects of countries where French is the native language. In addition, you will also work on improving your French listening proficiency by doing exercises at B1 level.
