Aims
Aims

At the end of the course, the student can participate in a formal German fair and write a formal German report discussing possible options for an international strategic alliance between a non-German-speaking and a German-speaking company. In all oral and written products, the student uses German at B2 level that is lexically and grammatically correct, reasonably coherent and without too many pronunciation errors.

Content
Content

Increasingly, businesses and organisations are forced to operate in a global arena. One way of achieving this is to form international strategic alliances with international business partners. Successful international cooperation largely depends on the quality of the communication between potential alliance partners. Another strategy for companies to gain access to the international market is to present themselves at international tradeshows.
In this course, you will review the types of strategic alliances that have taken place between non-German-speaking and German-speaking companies, discuss their effectiveness and make recommendations.
You will participate in a fair where you will present the outcome of a successful strategic alliance between the two companies. Consider the internal and external communication required for a successful strategic alliance. This course is a follow-up to the ‘International markets German’ course.
