French is an important language in international organizations, the business community, and in the academic world. This course aims to optimize the level of French of IBC students at the end of the Bachelor programme, and to prepare them for a certified French test (such as DELF/DALF), which, increasingly, is a job requirement. These recognized tests certify the language level of a candidate with regard to the four skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking skills. In this course, the student practises these skills in a variety of individual assignments (including 'business cases') to optimize his / her level of French (CEFR level: C1). The focus in this course is on both academic and business French, and on productive skills (speaking and writing), as these are the skills that students will need most in their future positions. At the end of the course, the student has insight into the format of the certified exam (DALF C1), into the way in which all four skills are tested, and can self-assess the own level of French with regard to the productive skills (reading and writing), in terms of CEFR.
