This course is designed to help and guide you through the various stages of writing a Master's thesis. We will address questions of how to formulate a research topic, learn about different types of research, use digital databases and citation software, implement efficient techniques of gathering, interpreting, and documenting information, as well as developing, organizing, and communicating your ideas. In the first semester, four sessions will be scheduled to address various relevant issues. At the end of the first semester, you will produce a research proposal for your Master's thesis. In the second semester, a series of workshops will likewise be scheduled with a focus on the writing-process. During the RUDESA spring academy in March, you will be able present your outline in workshops and exchange your ideas with international staff and students.
NOTE: this course is a compulsory part of your MA thesis project, but the course itself has no ECs attached to it; the 20 credits are awarded to students only after the MA thesis has been completed successfully.
