Content

The goal of this course is to help you to push your research skills to the next level.

  • You will gain a broader understanding of the full scope of scientific activities that we refer to as "research".
  • You will hone your critical thinking skills.
  • You will deepen your own understanding of how to formulate a research question, how to write a research plan/paper, and how to chose the appropriate methods for a research study by giving feedback on these skills to other people (specifically, to bachelor students).

The course is good preparation for research projects that you will be working on in the future (i.e., thesis and dissertation), as well as for an academic career, in which you might teach such a course yourself.

You will particularly enjoy this course if you have an interest in AI, technology (e.g., natural language processing or speech and language technology), social media or computer science. Concrete experience in one of those areas is helpful, but not necessary.
