In this course, researchers from the HLCS programmes (The Ancient World; Memory: Cultural and Religious Identities; Public and Private Life; Studying Criticism and Reception Across Borders) will discuss their projects with students from the research master. Specific issues will be addressed regarding research questions, methodology, sources, availability and use of materials, peer review and project progress and delays. Under the expert guidance of an accomplished researcher, students will complete several assignments of relevance to the research field in which they specialise. These assignments will also include at least one visit to the institutions featured in the project (e.g. Huygens ING, The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, Theater Instituut Nederland, and City Archives). |
