Al haber completado este curso exitosamente, el/la estudiante sabe:
- entender textos teóricos relevantes acerca de representaciones culturales;
- estudiar representaciones culturales diversas del mundo hispánico, haciendo uso de métodos relevantes del análisis literario y cultural;
- escribir un ensayo académico sobre una o más representaciones culturales del mundo hispánico donde se ponen en práctica dichos métodos.

Representaciones culturales son realidades imaginarias que circulan en todas partes. Influyen en nuestra comprensión del pasado, identidades nacionales y regionales, diferencias de género, el cuerpo, vidas no humanas. En este curso abordamos los fundamentos teóricos acerca de la representación y discutimos una serie de métodos relevantes para el análisis de representaciones culturales diversas, incluyendo la literatura, el cine y las performances en el mundo hispánico. ‘Texto y contexto’ se vincula estrechamente con los cursos ‘Struggles of Identity in the Hispanic World’, ‘Crossing Borders in the Hispanic World’ y ‘La cultura de los derechos humanos en el mundo hispánico’, donde se profundizará el análisis de las representaciones culturales en el mundo hispánico a partir de casos específicos relacionados con identity politics, la frontera y los derechos humanos.

Luistertaal
Deze cursus kan door minorstudenten ook in de luistertaalvariant gevolgd worden. Dat houdt in dat studenten die wel over voldoende receptieve kennis van het Spaans beschikken om teksten te kunnen lezen en de colleges te kunnen volgen, maar wiens spreek- en schrijfvaardigheid in het Spaans niet zo goed is, de mogelijkheid krijgen om bij deze cursus de opdrachten, presentaties, en toetsen in het Nederlands of Engels te maken. Bij tentamens is de vraagstelling dan in het Spaans en mag je in het Nederlands of Engels antwoorden. Als je belangstelling hebt en zelf denkt dat je voldoende receptieve vaardigheid bezit, neem dan contact op met de cursuscoördinator van deze cursus. Klik hier voor een zelftest Spaans.
English: This course is also open to Lingua Receptiva students (“luistertaal”). Lingua Receptiva means that students who have sufficient receptive knowledge of Spanish to be able to read texts and follow lectures, but whose speaking and writing skills in Spanish might not be good enough, are given the opportunity to do the assignments, presentations, (oral) exams and assignments in Dutch or English. So for example, in case of an exam the questions are in Spanish but you may answer them in Dutch or English.
