Cursusdoelen
This course aims to explain the role of marketing in a customer-oriented organization and provides in-depth knowledge of theoretical thinking on major marketing concepts. It trains students to assess the consequences of decisions for marketing performance and apply the acquired knowledge to a simulated business case. Specifically, students will be placed into a very realistic international business setting where they will run a marketing division for six quarters in compressed time. Students will start up and run their own marketing division, exploring and working with marketing fundamentals and the interplay between product, price, place, promotion, budgets and financial performance. Thereby, the course facilitates learning of important marketing concepts, principles and ways of thinking and helps students to acquire an integrated perspective of the entire marketing operation.
The course language is English. Once enrolled in the course, please inspect Brightspace for all relevant information and updates on the course. It is imperative that you have bought the license for the simulation game on time. Information on how to do that is provided through the course site on Brightspace.

Voorkennis
Inleiding bedrijfskunde 2 or equivalent.
Toetsinformatie
Written exam (60%) consisting of multiple-choice questions & work group performance (40%). For both parts, at least a 5.5 is necessary to be eligible for a final course grade.
A passing grade for the work group performance of last year remains valid. See information below.


If you already passed your course project in a previous year and want the grade to be valid for this academic year, please unsubscribe from the group assignment (in Osiris). If you do subscribe to the assignment, you will have to earn a new grade by completing the course project in this academic year (again).

Any questions related to the course (and workgroup) enrollment should be addressed to STIP, not to the course coordinator.

Team formation:
You need to subscribe to a team on time. You can subscribe to a team through Brightspace once you registered for the course in Osiris. Please mind the deadline for registration that will be announced on Brightspace.
