Content

Cross Cultural Management and Communication (CCM&C) helps students understand the influence of culture on management processes such as leadership, decision-making, employee motivation and communication. Cross-cultural dimensional models and theories will be used to analyze and compare various cultures and culture clusters. Through the course, students become more aware of their own cultural background and the influence of their culture on learning processes, but also on their cooperation and communication within teams that are composed of students with different cultural backgrounds. They learn to analyze the influence of culture management practices in multinational organizations and the ethical implications of managing globally. Furthermore, the course informs that a colonial past still influences mental models that are based on so called ‘white structures,’ leading to biased perceptions towards business and business people in and from the developing world (emerging countries) or its representatives.
