Inhoud
This project focuses on the role multinational enterprises (MNEs) play for local and global economic development. First, the course deals with various ways MNEs are internationalizing and the drivers of this internationalization. Second, the course focuses on the consequences of the activities of the MNEs for the target market, their home market and various spillover effects. Third, within this course you will learn econometric methods related to panel data analysis that allow you to work with big data in general, and can be used to study the determinants and consequences of MNE activity, in particular. Finally, you will work in groups and write your own empirical paper on a topic related to MNE-activity and economic development.
