Aims

At the end of the course students will:

  • Have gained insight in various perspectives on responsible organisation,

  • be able to link the assigned topic to other academic literature,

  • be able to critically reflect on strengths and weaknesses of a certain perspective,

  • be able to link the assigned topic to other perspectives presented in the course, and

  • be able to apply insights from perspectives on responsible organisation to practice.
Content
The main objective of the course is to introduce students to diverse perspectives on responsible organization. To reach this goal, we will guide you through various current perspectives on responsible organisation, such as responsible marketing, responsible leadership, responsible innovation, or responsible supply chains. For each of these perspectives, teachers of various groups from the Business Administration Department (e.g., Marketing, Strategic Human Resource Management, Organisation Design and Development), who are experts in these perspectives, will discuss their state-of-the-art research on responsible organisation and theories that help us understand the diversity of what responsible organisation means and how it can be practiced. Students will then register for one specific perspective and individually and independently write an essay, approaching a business or societal topic from their chosen perspective. Students will then have the chance to present and discuss their essays during an interactive essay development seminar.
