Aims
The main objectives of this module are:

After completion of the course, students are able to
  1. define  seven  of  the  most  common  biomedical  imaging  modalities  and  their  individual strengths.
  2. explain the technical concept behind the different imaging modalities.
  3. apply one or more of the imaging modalities to solve a biomedical question.
  4. distinguish between the different modalities: what to use for which diagnostic question.
  5. present the imaging solution for their particular problem.
Content
The module

The course is centered around biomedical problems that will be solved by small groups of students. During the course, the students will get acquainted with the different biomedical imaging techniques and will investigate if these can be utilized to solve their problem. After each week a short individual test is taken on the covered imaging modality(ies) of the week. At the end of the course, all groups will present their problem and will explain how to solve this.
