At the end of the course you can:
- recognize and name molecular structures of nucleic acids
- describe DNA replication and repair
- render the processes of RNA synthesis and transcript maturation
- reproduce the mechanisms of protein synthesis
- name the differences between pro- and eukaryotes at the level of gene expression regulation
- theoretically apply recombinant DNA technologies, namely:
- Restriction mapping
- Cloning
- PCR
- Sequencing
- Consult bioinformatic databases and gene browsers
