Given a problem apply a suitable method for counting.
Find closed formulas given recurrence relations.
Apply basic concepts from graph theory.

The course Combinatorics teaches methods for coding, counting, and structuring discrete sets.

'Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications', by Kenneth H. Rosen. We use the socalled 'Global edition' of the seventh edition. This course covers the chapters 6, 8 and 10. This book is also used in the course Mathematical Structures.
