  • Given a problem apply a suitable method for counting.
  • Find closed formulas given recurrence relations.
  • Apply basic concepts from graph theory.

Book
'Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications', by Kenneth H. Rosen. We use the so-called 'Global edition' of the seventh edition. This course covers the chapters 6, 8 and 10. This book is also used in the course Mathematical Structures.
