After finishing this course you will be able to recognise problems that can be solved by differentiation and integration. You will also be familiar with the fundamental methods to actually solve those problems. In particular, the criteria for the assessment are along the following aspects:
- Ability to apply the appropriate method(s)
- Accuracy of computations
- Remembering the most essential formulas (also necessary for understanding)
- Clarity of the description of solutions
- Clarity of logical steps
- Recognising relations among representations
- Making sense and persevering to find ways to solve a problem

This is an introductory course, in which a student learns the most important topics within calculus that a computer scientist needs to know.

This course is meant for pre-master and HBO-minor students computing science. Some maturity in mathematics would be very useful, but there is no strict pre-requisite for this course;
