Aims
Upon completion of the course, the student is able
  • to understand properties and functionality of basic functional groups
  • to understand and predict the chemical transformation of these functional groups with detailed reaction mechanisms
  • to synthesize molecules with more advanced experimental techniques
  • to report on experiments in concise manner
Content
This is a lab course, aiming to apply the theory around organic chemistry given in Synthesis of Biomolecules (NWI-MOL047) in practice. Clearly, focus will be at the synthesis and study of small molecules including peptides and carbohydrates.
Additional comments
Registration one month before the start of the course. There is a limit to the number of participants and a waiting list.
Students that choose to do this lab course have to have completed the course 'MOL047 Synthesis of biomolecules' .
