Aims
Upon completion of the course, the student is able
to understand properties and functionality of basic functional groups
to understand and predict the chemical transformation of these functional groups with detailed reaction mechanisms
to synthesize molecules with more advanced experimental techniques
to report on experiments in concise manner
Content
This is a lab course, aiming to apply the theory around organic chemistry given in
Synthesis of Biomolecules
(NWI-MOL047) in practice. Clearly, focus will be at the synthesis and study of small molecules including peptides and carbohydrates.
Additional comments
Registration one month before the start of the course. There is a limit to the number of participants and a waiting list.
Students that choose to do this lab course have to have completed the course 'MOL047 Synthesis of biomolecules' .
