Upon completion of the course, the student is able
- to understand properties and functionality of basic functional groups
- to understand and predict the chemical transformation of these functional groups with detailed reaction mechanisms
- to synthesize molecules with more advanced experimental techniques
- to report on experiments in concise manner

This lab is a continuation on MOL005 on synthetic organic chemistry and is a next step in acquiring an academic attitude to scientific experimentation. The student apply knowledge on reaction mechanisms on transformation of functional groups. With a preconceived goal, substances are synthesized. Moreover, you will expand your experience on how to safely deal with chemicals, glassware and equipment in an efficient manner. During this course you have plan your experiments to comply with a predefined set of goals. Meanwhile, communication skills are trained: notebook, reports, oral reports, discussion, |
