Independent interpretation and evaluation of NMR in terms of molecular structure for organic molecules, and of IR, UV-vis, and mass spectra for bio- and organic molecules; independent planning of strategy for purification of bio- and organic molecules by chromatography. |
|
Important techniques for the characterization of compounds by instrumental analysis are treated. The emphasis is on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) of organic compounds and mass spectrometry of bio- and organic molecules. Furthermore infrared (IR) and ultraviolet/visible light (UV/vis) spectroscopy as well as chromatography is treated. |
