At the start of the Master's programme, the student is expected to contact the advisor of the specialisation of interest to discuss the individual master courses program and to select a thesis supervisor.

In the first half year the student is expected to follow courses to prepare for the thesis research. After that, the thesis project can be commenced. While the thesis work is being performed, the student still takes courses, usually the most advanced ones. Students are in particular encouraged to also have discussions about this material with the members of the department in which they are embedded.

At the start of the project, the student registers for this course (NWI-NM086F) in order to start the project planning and evaluation process. The student will receive an e-mail containing a link to the online planning form. This form should be filled in in consultation with the supervisor at the start of the project.
