Aims
  • The student knows how to deal with censored data
  • The student can apply various models to model survival data, understands the outcome of the analysis, and is able to asses which model is best suited
  • The student can test standard hypotheses in survival models
  • The student understands the mathematics behind these statistical models
Content
In this course the students will be introduced to survival analysis, censored data, the famous Cox proportional hazard model, a bit of genomics and some other topics from biostatistics. These models are used on a large scale throughout health care research, but also in industrial research and business analytics. It is therefore essential to everyone who would like to use statistics in a practical setting.
