The Master thesis presents the analysis of your research findings, contributing to the relevant theoretical debates in Anthropology and Development Studies. The thesis is a well-reasoned and clear report of high academic quality. You write the thesis individually under the supervision of a staff member. In the Master thesis, you combine theoretical readings in Anthropology and Development Studies with your own research questions and design, and with an analysis of your own data. You also reflect on your methods and research process. You critically assess the nature of your data, and its limitations and strengths. Through a combination of theoretical views and the research findings, the Master’s thesis contributes to current debates on your topic within the field of Anthropology and Development Studies.

This course is accessible for students who have completed their Field Research as part of the Anthroplogy and Development Studies Master's programme.
|
|
The thesis will be assessed by the supervisor and a second reader, using an assessment form that is made available to you beforehand. The assessment reflects the course objectives, stressing the quality of the data analysis, treatment of existing debates, the clarity and succinctness of the argument, the (academic) quality of the writing, accuracy of referencing, et cetera.
