The Bachelor thesis is your final grand end product of your Bachelor. Here, you will work on your own personal project and thesis, embedded in a team of students working on the same, or similar, topics, under the supervision of one or multiple AI (or external) staff members.
You apply for a project and/or supervisor, perfoms a clearly planned and delimited research, write your own thesis and answer at least one individual research question.
The research topic should be relevant to the broad area of Artificial Intelligence, which ranges from, e.g. theoretical explorations on social and ethical implications of AI, via computational modeling of aspects of human cognition and brain functioning, to more engineering type of projects where smart systems, robots, or interfaces are designed and evaluated. More information about the procedures, rules and guidelines, possible supervisors, evaluation criteria, etcetera are available Blackboard via the BKI300 course site the “BSc/MSc Theses” tab.
A strict trajectory for your bachelor thesis project is planned. You can choose between the Spring/Autumn semesters. “Spring” starts in November and "Autumn" in June. If you want to start with your bachelor thesis:
- Enroll for BKI300
- Follow the announcements on the BB course and orient yourself on the posted supervisors and proposals.
- Visit the BAKO in June or November
- Apply for your preferred project and/or supervisor
- Plan and perform the research (until Jan/June)
- Present your research and defend your thesis (Jan/Jun)
Above all, make something you can rightly be proud of as grand end product of your bachelor period. |
