  • Describe the function of ethograms and different data collection instruments
Content
Behavioural observation is pivotal in all subfields of psychological science, helping researchers in their investigations of varied aspects of human nature. How do children form close friendships? How do individuals with and without symptoms of clinical depression differ in how they spend their time? Unobtrusive observation techniques provide invaluable insights for researchers about social partner preferences, time allocation practices, dominance hierarchies, and numerous other factors about groups and individuals. Within the course Behaviour Observation you will learn about diverse methods available to observe, record, and categorize human behaviour in a reliable and valid way. Researchers within the Behavioural Science Institute will showcase various observational methods.
