Content
The master Research Project represents the pinnacle of your studies as an Artificial Intelligence masters students and gives you a perfect opportunity to take what you have learned during the program and apply it to a real problem, either in an academic commercial research context. During this project you will perform your research on a topic in the domain of your chosen specialization, i.e. Web, Robot or Computation. Before starting your research project you must submit a project proposal which is approved by the specialization leader as relevant to that track.
The research project can be done within the AI department, other academic departments at the Radboud University or a different university, or a company or non-academic (research) institute. It is also an option to go abroad and perform one's internship research at a foreign research institute.

The research project is a very important part of your AI Masters study and it is important to carefully select a project (and supervisor) that is both something that you enjoy working on and that you can realistically achieve in the time available (6 months full time). To help with this process, each year in April we organize a 'Career Fair'. At this event a range of potential supervisors from academia and companies are present to talk about potential projects and research areas. The setting is relatively informal (with free drinks and snacks) where you have the opportunity to sit-down with potential supervisors and chat about possible projects and your goals for your internship/research project. As AI master students are in high demand normally we have 15-20 possible supervisors available with projects in many different directions, ranging from neuro-science studies in the lab, to algorithm development projects in labs or companies, to practical applications in companies.

More information about the procedures, project options, possible supervisors, evaluation criteria, etc. for the Master Internship are available on the Blackboard Organisation "BA/MA thesis Kunstmatige Intelligentie".  If you have questions, contact the master thesis coordinator j.kwisthout@donders.ru.nl. For more information about the procedures and options for doing your internship abroad you can contact the internationalization coordinator internationalofficer@ai.ru.nl.
