Aims
Upon completion of this course you will be able to:
  1. Give an overview of the commonly used terminology and methods used in psychology to carry out and report on empirical research
  2. Identify advantages and disadvantages of various research methods used to answer psychological research questions
  3. Using this knowledge, recognise the basic methodical features of a simple existing study, and describe and assess them
  4. Describe a new study on a basic level, setup and evaluate it, while making correct use of this knowledge.
Content
In the Research Methods course you will become acquainted with the terminology used by psychologists to communicate about research, and with various research methods used in psychology. Additionally, you will gain insight into the advantages and disadvantages of various research methods used to answer psychological research questions.

Assessment
A written examination consisting of 25 open questions.
