We experience the world through our senses. The brain somehow manages to create a rich and vivid representation of the environment out of elementary sensory input. How does the brain achieve this? What happens in the brain when our experience is not in line with reality (e.g., hallucinations, hearing voices in your head)? What happens during altered states of consciousness (e.g., sleep, hypnosis, meditation, or after drug use). What is consciousness anyway? What about free will? In this course, we search for answers to these types of questions. The course addresses different topics approached from different fields (e.g., clinical and social psychology, cognitive neurosciences, philosophy and artificial intelligence)
