Tijdens een Proefstudeerdag kom je een dag langs op de campus en volg je een speciaal programma samen met andere studiekiezers. Zo krijg je een goede indruk van de universiteit en de opleiding en kun je al je vragen stellen aan studenten en docenten.
We raden aan om je in te schrijven wanneer je al een aardig beeld hebt van de opleiding. Misschien zoek je nog bevestiging of het de juiste keuze is, of twijfel je nog tussen twee studies? Dan is proefstuderen ideaal voor jou. Het beste kun je dus al een voorlichtingsactiviteit, zoals de Bachelor Open Dag, bezocht hebben.

Borders are at the core of many discussions in our contemporary world. At first sight, the discussion about the Mexican-American border comes to our mind, which has led to heated debates in the Western Hemisphere. However, the complex border between Spain and Morocco continues to be less visible. How come we have such a different knowledge of these borders? How is the representation of the border related to issues such as class, race, or gender? What aesthetic, political and ideological mechanisms are functioning behind these representations?

This class introduces students to the conquest chronicles of Latin America. It examines how early colonial writers narrated the encounters between Europeans and Indigenous peoples and how these texts articulated the political, religious, and rhetorical foundations of colonial power.
