Embargo periode
Van artikelen die gepubliceerd worden, ook in Science, geef je meestal je volledige auteursrecht weg aan de uitgever. Die bepaalt vervolgens wat je met je publicatie mag doen. Voor open access publiceren van je artikel in de Radboud Repository geldt dan bijna altijd een embargo-periode, variërend van enkele maanden tot jaren. Alhoewel onze opt-out strategie de embargo-periode beperkt tot zes maanden na de eerste online publicatie, is dit niet voldoende voor de meeste onderzoeksfinanciers. Zij verlangen onmiddellijk open access publiceren.
Auteursversie van Science artikelen in de Radboud Repository
Het tijdschrift Science geeft onder voorwaarden toestemming voor het open access publiceren van de accepted version van je artikel in de Radboud Repository.
In de accepted version van het volledige artikel moet daarvoor een tekst geplaatst worden.
Hieronder de Engelstalige tekst die Science gebruikt:
Please place the following notice on the Accepted Version of your plan S paper that you distribute:
“Copyright © 20XX The Authors, some rights reserved, exclusive licensee American Association for the Advancement of Science. This author manuscript is distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution license, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.”
("Creative Commons Attribution license" in the notice should link to https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ ) or for CC NY-ND link to (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/4.0/).
Overige voorwaarden van Science
De overige voorwaarden, zoals geformuleerd door Science:
- "9. If Your article is peer-reviewed research, You can post your Accepted Version to your website or the public repository of your choice upon publication by AAAS (The Accepted Version should not be modified to resemble the publisher formatted Final Published Version). You agree to include a link to the Final Published Version published on the Science website and the appropriate license terms as follows:
- a. If Your manuscript was submitted to a Science subscription journal on or after January 1, 2021 and Your research was funded by a cOAlition S funder, You may apply a CC BY license (or a CC BY-ND license if permitted by your funder) to your Accepted Version.
- b. If 9a above does not apply and Your manuscript was submitted to a Science subscription journal on or after January 1, 2023 and it is subject to "open access" policies of Your employers and/or funders that require distribution of the Accepted Version under a CC BY license, You may apply the CC BY license to your Accepted Version.
- c. If neither 9a nor 9b above apply, You agree to include the following on the Accepted Version that you distribute pursuant to this license: "This is the author's version of the work. It is posted here by permission of the AAAS for personal use, not for redistribution. The definitive version was published in Science doi: 10.1126/science.adf2685."
