I am an Assistant Professor of Organizational Change at the Nijmegen School of Management, Radboud University. Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Freie Universität Berlin (Germany), where I also received my PhD (2018) on the governance of corporate responsibility and irresponsibility. I was a research fellow at Cornell University (USA) and a visiting researcher at the School of Commerce at Waseda University (Japan). Julia is a member of the Editorial Review Board of the European Management Review.
My research revolves around the interface between business and society. I study theoretical questions of collaborative organizing for change, exploring such processes in the context of organizational responsibility and sustainability. I am passionate about exploring how organizations can change towards becoming more sustainable and reduce their environmental impact. This curiosity also includes questions of how our own research fields could become more inclusive and diverse. In my research, I am bridging organisation theory, institutional theory, comparative capitalism research and economic sociology.
Research areas:
- Organizational change towards sustainability (environment and diversity-related)
- Organizational and institutional drivers of the governance of (ir)responsibility
- Politics around greening at the corporate and field level
- Organisational Design and Development
